What is a PPEC?
Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) is a medical daycare for children with medically complex needs from birth through age 20. PPECs are licensed and regulated by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and 100% covered by Medicaid, including free transportation to and from home, school, and doctor’s appointments. In a PPEC, children receive all the medical care and therapies they need from skilled nurses and therapists in a nurturing and safe environment.
Our Services
Skilled Nursing
Pediatric skilled nursing can provide children with medical attention and developmental guidance to help them with their daily tasks and lead happy and healthy lives. Nurses provide care collaboratively and safely to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy helps with communication and speech disorders. Speech therapists can help with dyslexia, dyspraxia, fluency, articulation, and voice problems. They also help with receptive, expressive, and pragmatic difficulties and feeding and swallowing issues.
Medical Transportation
Non-emergency medical transportation is offered to each child for pick-up and drop-off to and from home, school, and medical appointments. A medical care staff will always accompany all children on the transport vehicle.
Physical Therapy
Through patient education, hands-on care, and prescribed exercise, physical therapy maximizes quality of life. Patients can attain long-term health benefits by learning how to prevent or manage their condition from physical therapists.
Behavioral Therapy
Behavioral Therapy focuses on minimizing anxiety and ways to encourage good behavior through positive reinforcement and correcting the negative behaviors that may unknowingly get reinforced within the individual’s environment.
After School Program
Hands-on experiences in cognitive, communicative, social, physical, and emotional growth will be the core of our after-school program. Children will be able to participate in developmentally appropriate activities that are stimulating.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps individuals to perform everyday tasks through therapies and coordination exercises. Occupational Therapy helps children with disabilities to participate fully in school and gain independence while also strengthening the development of fine motor, sensory-motor, and visual-motor skills.
Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory Therapy helps improve cardiopulmonary issues like asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, lung trauma, cystic fibrosis, and other diagnoses. Respiratory Therapists can give patients oxygen, manage ventilators, and administer drugs to the lungs.
Activities
Children can enjoy the indoor and outdoor areas to play and have fun while learning social skills. Activities include fun games, arts & crafts, drawing, puzzles, role-playing, book reading, movie day, and more.
Why Racky Children Care PPEC?
At Racky Children Care PPEC, our qualified, professional, multilingual pediatric nurses and aides work individually with each family and child to provide the best medical care based on their needs. We provide up to 12 hours per day of nursing care, Monday through Saturday. Our PPEC is an excellent option for after-school programs if your child attends school.
We would be delighted to talk with any parent whose child is disabled and has unique needs. In addition to expert nursing care throughout the day, we offer various therapeutic services for kids with impairments.
